Independent Examinations

Unincorporated charities below the current audit threshold of £250,000 require an independent examination. Although less onerous and expensive than an audit, the independent examination provides a negative assurance that nothing has come to the examiner’s attention that should be reported to the Trustees.

Davina Bound of Caritas Accountancy Services is a Fellow of the Association of Charity Independent Examiners and a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA), with over nine years experience of working with charities and other not-for-profit organisations. She is therefore qualified to perform independent examinations of all charities in England and Wales up to the legal threshold.

As an experienced qualified accountant with specialist knowledge of the charity accounting and not for profit organisational requirements, Davina is ideally placed to provide this legally required service which culminates in that all important Report of the Independent Examiner which forms part of the financial statements of the charity.

However, her expertise and experience also means that she is able to provide guidance and advice on the format and content of the financial statements themselves, giving the client assurance that the whole document complies with relevant legislation.

If your organisation is not currently complying with this requirement or you are looking for somebody suitable experienced to provide the assurance you are seeking, contact Davina and she can help you determine your needs.
